1. Why should I install an automatic sprinkler system?

An automatic sprinkler will:

2. What is an automatic sprinkler system?

An automatic sprinkler system consists of four (4) components:

CONTROLLER - is considered the brain of the system.  It sends electrical signals to the valves telling them what day, what time and how long to water.

VALVES - control the flow of water to the sprinkler heads and divide the yard into watering zones which helps maintain the water pressure for sprinkler head performance. There are several types of valves; however, your contractor will select the right valve for your system.

SPRINKLER HEADS - disperse the water to the designated zones. Matching the right sprinkler head to the job application will insure even coverage thus eliminating brown areas.

ACCESSORIES - Includes but is not limited to rain sensors that will turn off your sprinkler system during rainy conditions and remote controls that operate your controller from a distance.

3. How do I select an irrigation contractor?

Experience: 

Installing a sprinkler system is a complex task that requires an experienced and licensed professional contractor who understands systems layout, hydraulics, soil types along with lawn and plant requirements.

Reliability:

a. Check for required state licenses

b. Proof of liability insurance.

c. Discuss required contracts.

d. Request a date for completion

e. Be sure the Contractor inspects your property prior to submitting a bid.

f. Review the system design to be sure it meets all codes.

g. Ask about commercial grade components

h. Be cautious of low bids.

Service & Warranties:

Your Contractor should provide prompt "after sales service" and at minimum a one year warranty on all parts and labor.
